A white lump on her head could be a cyst or a lesion which if it moves is most likely benign, but would need a biopsy and possible intervention from a vet.
Like the majority, I agree, it most likely is a tick. To remove a tick, you need to be absolutely sure, you also pull off the head. The white body is usually more grey than white and you need to use something to knock out the tick. Many solutions can be used, but in your case, possibly a strong flea spray would be best. Only spray on the tick, where it enters the head. Wait a while, up to one minute and hopefully the tick will fall off. If you know someone with experience they can pull it out, or you can buy a pair of tick tweezers, which fits round the tick and you, sort of, pump/push out. You will recognise the head at the end as it has little legs. Flush it down the toilet. They are nasty things.
Your dog is not going to like you doing this, so you need to hold her firmly, whilst talking gently. It is very important to remove this parasite, since it may carry a bacteria and your dog may end up with Lyme disease. Fortunately as your dog is already 9, one tick should not harm her, hopefully.
It is unusual for ticks to jump on dark coloured skin, but it does happen. They usually prefer the blond and light toned dogs.Pimple on my pet dogs head?
It could be a tick, they are white or a grey/black colour. If you squeeze it gently with your nail, if it is a tick you will leave an imprint in it. Don't squeeze too hard, if it is a tick it can cause it to release its stomach contents into your dog.
If you find it is a tick then use tweezers and gently pull it straight out, then you can apply some antiseptic ointment to the area which will swell and go red for a few days.
If you are at all worried then you should see the vet and get them to check exactly what it is.
If it pops and she gets more you need to take her into the vet to have it checked out. In bull terriers I have one myself they can get skin diseases and will need treatment if not bathed regularly. She may even have to have that checked out for a cyst or tumor because of her age. Let the vet do some bloodwork and hopefully it wont be nothing but a little skin disorder where some medicated shampoo or spray will help. I wish the best for you and your Staffordshire bull terrier.
This might be it:
Dogs and cats can develop pimples and pustules much like teenagers.
They are usually the result of an underlying allergy e.g. contact allergy, flea allergy.
I hope your dog gets better soon!
Check for ticks and go take it to the vet.
Most likely it is a tick....Try to get some tick medicine. I don't think dogs can possibly get pimples.
check if its a tick!
a tick?
are you sure it isn't a tick?
